Son gives mom hair donation; she has been fighting a brain tumour for over 20 years.

What began as a lighthearted joke turned into one of the most meaningful gifts a mother could receive.

When Melanie Shaha of Arizona lost her hair after radiation treatment for a recurring benign brain tumor, her 27-year-old son Matt quipped that he should grow his hair out and make her a wig. Melanie brushed off the offer, not wanting to burden him—but Matt insisted.

For more than two and a half years, he let his hair grow. When it reached the perfect length, friends helped cut it off, and Matt spent $2,000 to have it hand-stitched into a lightweight, comfortable wig.

“We cried happy tears as soon as they started cutting,” Melanie recalled. Seeing her in the finished wig, Matt said, “It’s the first time I’ve seen her look like herself in almost four years.”

Melanie was overjoyed with her new look, calling it an unforgettable gift of love. “It fills your heart, for sure,” she said, smiling as Matt beamed beside her.
