The FBI has released images of a person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, at Utah Valley University. The individual, captured on campus security footage wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, is being sought as the investigation continues. The FBI is offering a reward of up to \$100,000 for information leading to the suspect’s identification and arrest.
Authorities recovered the suspected weapon, a Mauser .30-06 bolt-action rifle, in a nearby wooded area. The rifle, wrapped in a towel, still contained a spent cartridge and three unspent rounds with markings described as “transgender and anti-fascist,” which investigators are analyzing. Forensic testing, including DNA and fingerprint analysis, will be conducted at the FBI laboratory in Quantico, Virginia.
Officials tracked the suspect moving through stairwells to a roof before firing at Kirk around 12:20 p.m. He then fled into a nearby neighborhood. Investigators have also collected a footwear impression, a palm print, and forearm imprints for analysis.
