Documents confirmed the lab had been part of a government genetics program shut down over twenty years ago, later converted into a prison—but the underground facility had never been fully decommissioned.
Backup power kept the chamber running, and airborne particles likely spread to the infirmary, affecting pregnant inmates. As the prison evacuated, alarms blared and the faint mechanical hum of the chamber restarted, hinting the experiment was far from over.
