At the zoo, a man in a wheelchair was watching the gorillas when something shocking happened. A female gorilla suddenly approached, grabbed the handles of his wheelchair, and pulled him toward the enclosure. Panic broke out as staff and visitors tried to pull him back, but the gorilla was too strong. In seconds, she lifted the man—still in his wheelchair—inside her space.
Everyone froze, fearing the worst. The man, once a zookeeper who had cared for many of these animals, sat motionless, certain tragedy was coming. But instead of attacking, the gorilla gently wrapped her arms around him and began to rock him softly, like a child.
The crowd fell silent as someone whispered, “She remembers him.” Slowly, the gorilla placed the man back in his wheelchair and pushed him toward the fence. When the keepers pulled him to safety, tears filled his eyes—he recognized her instantly. She was the same gorilla he had raised and loved years before.
