Lately, my five-year-old daughter started acting very strangely. Always obedient and smart, she suddenly developed a habit that worried me: every time I called her for lunch, she refused to eat at the table. Instead, she took her plate to the bathroom, placed her small chair there, locked the door, and ate in secret. She never went there to play—only to eat.
At first, I thought it was a game, but when it continued daily for a month, I grew concerned. Talking to her didn’t help; she stayed silent. So, I set up a hidden camera to see what was happening.
During lunch, she locked herself in and suddenly shouted: “That’s it! Alex gets nothing!” My heart skipped. Alex is her older brother. When I asked him why, he calmly said it was because he sometimes took her food—he admitted hers always tasted better.
The truth was simple: she was protecting her food, showing her vengeful, principled side.
