Elizabeth Franz, the beloved stage and screen actress, passed away on November 4 at her home in Woodbury, Connecticut. She was 84. She died after a battle with cancer and a severe reaction to her treatment. Franz is best known for her Tony Award–winning performance as Linda Loman in the 1999 Broadway revival of Death of a Salesman, where her powerful, emotionally rich interpretation won praise even from Arthur Miller. Over her long career, Franz earned additional Tony nominations for Brighton Beach Memoirs and Morning’s at Seven. She also made memorable television appearances on shows like Gilmore Girls, Law & Order, and Grey’s Anatomy. She is survived by her husband, Christopher Pelham, and her brother, Joe.
