Armed Intruder Shot and Killed by Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago Today

A security breach at Mar-a-Lago early Sunday morning ended when an armed intruder was shot and killed by U.S. Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputy. The confrontation reportedly occurred around 1:30 a.m. near the north gate of the property’s secure perimeter.

According to authorities, the man, believed to be in his early 20s, entered the grounds without authorization while carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel container. Officers on scene ordered him to drop the items. While he set down the container, officials say he raised the shotgun in a threatening manner, prompting agents and the deputy to open fire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No law enforcement personnel were injured during the incident. President Donald Trump was not at the Florida estate at the time of the breach.

The FBI is leading the investigation, working alongside the Secret Service and local authorities to review evidence, including body camera footage, to determine the full sequence of events. As is standard procedure following a use-of-force incident, the agents involved have been placed on administrative leave pending further review.
