After Deadly Head-On Crash, Authorities Discover a Facebook Page That Left Them Speechless

At 8:33 a.m. on March 23, 2023, Courtney Ann Sanford, a 34-year-old experienced driver, posted on Facebook: “The happy song makes me so HAPPY” along with a few cheerful selfies. Just one minute later, her car crashed head-on into a truck traveling at about 60 km/h. The impact sent her vehicle into a ditch and then into a tree, where it burst into flames. Tragically, she was trapped inside and did not survive.

When police investigated, they discovered that her final Facebook post had been made only seconds before the crash. The emergency call came in at 8:34 a.m. Authorities have since used her story as a tragic example of how dangerous distracted driving can be, especially when using a phone behind the wheel. They urge drivers to enable “Do Not Disturb While Driving” features and remember: no message or post is worth a human life.
