Irish TV star Saoírse Ruane, known for her appearance on The Late Late Toy Show, has passed away at just 12 years old after a four-year battle with cancer. Her mother, Roseanna, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, saying their “hearts are shattered” as Saoírse took her final breath in their arms. She thanked supporters nationwide, acknowledging how deeply loved Saoírse was and how much her story touched others.
Diagnosed in 2019, Saoírse underwent a leg amputation in 2020 due to Osteosarcoma. Despite her challenges, she saw several dreams come true—visiting Old Trafford and traveling to Disneyland. Sadly, the cancer returned in 2022, spreading to both lungs.

Tributes poured in across Ireland. President Michael D. Higgins praised her strength and warmth, while Tánaiste Micheál Martin recalled her bright smile. Former Late Late host Ryan Tubridy, who grew close to the family, called her “selfless, kind, and inspiring,” saying the world is “a poorer place” without her.
