**Deadly Sea Mines Claim Three Lives on Zatoka Beach, Odesa**

Tragedy struck a beach in southern Ukraine near Zatoka Beach in Odesa when three swimmers were killed by sea mines. The victims, two men and a woman, were swimming in an area that had been strictly prohibited for safety reasons. Regional governor Oleh Kiper confirmed the fatalities, emphasizing that entering unchecked waters remains “fatally dangerous” due to ongoing threats from explosive devices.

The Black Sea has become increasingly perilous since Russia’s full-scale invasion, as both Russian and Ukrainian forces have laid mines that can drift toward shorelines with currents and weather conditions. In addition to sea mines, unexploded mortars and aerial bombs have been discovered in the water, prompting authorities to close numerous beaches and warn locals and tourists against entering restricted areas.

Local police reported that the deaths occurred due to two separate explosions of unidentified objects while the victims were swimming. The identities of the three victims have not yet been released, highlighting the continuing dangers of recreational activities along the conflict-affected coastline.
