A tragic crash on the Florida Turnpike claimed three lives after a reckless U-turn by a tractor-trailer driver. The devastating incident occurred Tuesday, August 12, near Fort Pierce, when a 2024 International semi attempted to cross the median through an “official use only” passage clearly marked with a no U-turn sign.
Authorities identified the driver as Harjinder Singh, an undocumented migrant, now facing homicide charges. Dashcam footage shows Singh blocking northbound lanes when a 2015 Chrysler Town & Country minivan slammed into the truck, wedging beneath it. The violent impact killed two passengers instantly.
The driver of the minivan, a 30-year-old Florida City resident, was pulled from the wreck and rushed to a hospital but later died, raising the death toll to three.
Investigators continue to stress the dangers of reckless maneuvers on high-speed highways, calling this tragedy a grim reminder of the consequences of ignoring traffic laws.
