Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, his personal office announced Sunday. The diagnosis came after Biden experienced worsening urinary symptoms and was found to have a prostate nodule.
Tests confirmed a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone, indicating the cancer has spread beyond the prostate. Despite its severity, the cancer is hormone-sensitive, offering viable treatment options.
Biden and his family are consulting with physicians to determine the best course of action, which may include hormone therapy. Currently at his home in Wilmington, Delaware, Biden has not yet decided where treatment will take place.
Following the announcement, he thanked supporters on X, saying, “Cancer touches us all… Jill and I have learned we are strongest in the broken places.” The news has sparked an outpouring of well-wishes from political allies and the public alike.
