A tragic incident occurred on February 15, 2023, when a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter from the Tennessee National Guard crashed during a training exercise near Huntsville, Alabama. The crash resulted in the deaths of two experienced pilots, Chief Warrant Officer 3 Daniel Wadham and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Danny Randolph, both with over a decade of military service.
The helicopter was conducting a scheduled training flight when it rapidly descended and crashed on Alabama Highway 53, igniting upon impact. Remarkably, no injuries were reported on the ground.
