At least four people were killed and eleven others injured early Saturday after a police pursuit ended in a devastating crash outside Bradley’s on 7th, a well-known gay bar in Tampa’s Ybor City. The chase began around 12:45 a.m., when officers spotted a speeding vehicle on I-275 that was believed to be connected to street racing earlier that night. Police attempted a pit maneuver as the car exited the interstate but called it off due to the heavy crowds in the entertainment district.
Moments later, the driver lost control near 7th Avenue and slammed into the bar’s busy outdoor patio. Witnesses described a scene of chaos—overturned tables, screams, and patrons rushing to aid the injured. The suspect was taken into custody at the scene and now faces multiple felony charges, including vehicular homicide, with more expected.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance and dashcam footage and the incident has renewed concerns about street racing and pursuit protocols in nightlife areas.
