A shocking case in Cleveland, Ohio, has sparked outrage after a 21-year-old mother, identified as Kristel C., was arrested for abandoning her 16-month-old baby to go on vacation. Police were alerted by a concerned relative and, upon entering the home, discovered a heartbreaking scene: the baby lifeless in her crib after being left alone for more than eight days without food, water, or care.

Investigators revealed that Kristel had traveled to Detroit with her partner, leaving her daughter locked inside the apartment. During questioning, she admitted what she had done, showing little remorse and claiming she “needed a break.” Authorities described her demeanor as disturbingly cold.
