Blackheads are a common type of acne caused by clogged pores. When hair follicles become blocked with oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria, they form small, dark spots on the skin. Unlike whiteheads, which remain closed, blackheads are open to the air, causing the surface to oxidize and turn black.

Preventing and treating blackheads requires a consistent skincare routine. Cleansing twice daily with a gentle, non-comedogenic cleanser, exfoliating weekly, and using products containing salicylic acid or retinoids can help unclog pores. Avoid squeezing or picking at blackheads, as this can lead to scarring or infection.

With proper care, blackheads can be managed effectively, leaving skin clearer, smoother, and healthier.
