White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt sharply criticized federal Judge James Boasberg after his ruling against President Donald Trump, labeling him an activist and targeting his wife for her political donations. Trump also lashed out, calling Boasberg a “radical left lunatic” and threatening impeachment following the judge’s temporary order halting deportation flights.
Leavitt accused Boasberg of undermining presidential authority to remove foreign terrorists from the U.S., insisting the deportation campaign would continue under the Alien Enemies Act. She noted Boasberg’s Democratic ties and appointment by Barack Obama, framing his decision as politically motivated.
She further condemned the administration’s refusal to disclose the identities of those deported to El Salvador, alleging they were members of violent gangs, and argued that transparency was vital for public safety.
