State of Mexico – On Wednesday, November 20, a major collision occurred on the Mexico–Querétaro Highway at kilometer 059+000 in Huehuetoca. A trailer traveling toward Mexico City failed to brake in time near the Jorobas intersection, crashing into a barrier before striking five cars and a pickup truck. The impact left the trailer blocking all three northbound lanes, causing significant traffic disruption and a partial highway closure.
Authorities suspect wet road conditions from the day’s rain may have contributed to the accident, though a full investigation is underway to determine the exact cause.
Paramedics responded quickly, treating several people at the scene for minor injuries. While no serious injuries were reported, medical personnel advised some of the victims to undergo hospital evaluations as a precaution.
